Today I ran on base to get Rowan her passport photographs, as well as the money order for her passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad. I even did a bit of food shopping, and made sure to treat myself to some Sweet Tarts.
At home, I finished my husband's last college application and submitted it, filled out Rowan's applications for her CRBA, passport, and Social Security card, did dishes, put too-small newborn outfits in a bag to take to the thrift store, and started putting away a load of cloth diapers that just came out of the dryer. Phew!
I still need to work on Gavin's lesson plans. There are only a few subjects left, and I will be able to share his Year 5 schedule and plans once I am done.
Then there's writing: editing my manuscript and getting a post up on Pagan Square.
Today has been more productive than most, and I am grateful for that. Being productive is quite hit or miss with a newborn, isn't it? And I'm not very good at cutting myself some slack. Yesterday was pretty difficult. Sleep on Sunday night was really sporadic for a change, but when the hubby told me to nap yesterday, I answered, "Sleep is inefficient". Yes, I slept much better last night.
That doesn't mean I couldn't use a nap today. I'm really not used to only sleeping 6 hours a night. However, I'm pretty lucky compared to most parents of infants. I mean, 6 hours total, while it's actually dark outside? Not bad at all.
Alright. Speaking of doing something "inefficient" - yes, you can just call me Seven of Nine - I need to wrap up this post and get to that basket of clean diapers. After all, they won't stuff their own inserts.

Sounds like the Zen balance that you had right after she was born is starting to shift a little. But I'm sure it still feels great to be able to move around and breathe freely!
